bill and chris
dear bill and chris,
i would like to take the opportunity now to say in this forum that i forgive you for all wrongs you did against me, real or imagined. you taught me what you knew. that's all you had to give. while i don't necessarily respect that, i acknowledge it. but i will no longer live my life dictated by your rules and views.
i will never go back to the dog pen again. george is dead.
i will write this in a personal journal soon, to immortalize it in ink. for now, i had to get this out of my heart.
bill and chris: I FORGIVE YOU.
love,
scott

William Carlos Williams: "What power has love but forgiveness?"
Sri Chinmoy: "As forgiveness can illumine a human life, even so love can enlarge a human mind."

Friendship
I hope in prairie duststorms
I am your friend
I hope when mountains shake
I am your friend
I hope when clouds pour their sorrow
I am your friend
I hope when cities mourn their losses
I am your friend
I hope when lovers touch fingertips
I am your friend
I hope when time overtakes the sunset
I am your friend
I hope when your heart finds its calling
I am your friend
I hope you remember
I am your friend
I am your friend
I hope when mountains shake
I am your friend
I hope when clouds pour their sorrow
I am your friend
I hope when cities mourn their losses
I am your friend
I hope when lovers touch fingertips
I am your friend
I hope when time overtakes the sunset
I am your friend
I hope when your heart finds its calling
I am your friend
I hope you remember
I am your friend

kahlil gibran
from "on friendship"
when your friend speaks her mind you
fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor
do you withhold the "ay."
and when she is silent your heart ceases
not to listen to her heart;
when you part from your friend, you
grieve not;
for that which you love most in her may
be clearer in her absence, as the mountan
to the climber is clearer from the plain
when your friend speaks her mind you
fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor
do you withhold the "ay."
and when she is silent your heart ceases
not to listen to her heart;
when you part from your friend, you
grieve not;
for that which you love most in her may
be clearer in her absence, as the mountan
to the climber is clearer from the plain

Kahlil Gibran
"On Marriage"
You were born together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread but eat not from the same loaf
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each one of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping.
For only the hand of Life can contain your hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in each other's shadow.
demon eyes
you'll carry me
as far as you need
my weight
you'll demonize
my love
you'll make up stories
you'll chastise my past
and laugh at my efforts
long enough
to build your own song.
but don't get me wrong, love.
it's not going to work,
as long as you depend
on my complacency
because i'm strong
and real
and true.
so...
funny enough...
fuck off.
as far as you need
my weight
you'll demonize
my love
you'll make up stories
you'll chastise my past
and laugh at my efforts
long enough
to build your own song.
but don't get me wrong, love.
it's not going to work,
as long as you depend

because i'm strong
and real
